Men's Breakfast/Bible Study

Wednesday Mornings @ 8am

Gen 9:8-17

Mark 1:9-15.

Attention all who prepare food in the Church Kitchen!!! The Minnesota Department of Health regulations is requiring Food Safety Training.  Although churches are exempt from most of the new regulations about food, we do need to train volunteers to be on hand any time that food is served in our facilities. 

The Sibley County Home Extension in Gaylord is having a class Feb. 23rd at the new Human Services Building, 111 8th St., Gaylord, MN.  The class starts at 7:00 p.m.  It is open to the public but you must pre-register by Feb. 17th.  If you prepare food in the kitchen whether it’s for funerals, various church functions or events, it would be good if you could attend this training session.

Please contact the church office at 864-4549 if you will be attending this training on Feb. 23rd.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 26th  at  St. John’s Church in Plato will host their annual Pancake Dinner from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Menu:  Pancakes, ham, applesauce, dessert & beverage, all you can eat.   

Adults $9

Youth 5 – 12 $4

Kids 4 and under free. 

A New Bible Study will be starting on Sunday, February 26th at 9:30 am in the chapel. It is called “Making Sense of the Cross” by David J. Lose. It is a 6 session Bible Study being lead by John Bergseng. “Making Sense of the Cross” invites people to “listen in” on open conversations about the cross. Throughout the conversation, people are encouraged to think about and experience the cross and its meaning for their lives.

Family Game Night

Sunday, February 26th @ 4:30pm

Grab your favorite board game and come and join us for some family fun and fellowship during Family Game Night at CLC in the Fellowship Hall.  Pizza and pop will be provided by the Fellowship Ministry team.

2012 Women’s Lenten Retreat: “A Hidden Wholeness: The Journey Toward An Undivided Life” will be offered March 23rd & 24th.  Registration will be available beginning February 26th, and like last year will be limited to 20 participants. The retreat will be held at the Spirituality Center in St. Joseph, Mn. $70 for a double room, $75 for a single room.

Just a reminder to all that the last Sunday of the month is our ingathering of funds for our TEAF account. Checks should be made out to Christ Lutheran and denote in the memo “TEAF Account”.

The members of Christ Lutheran are invited to participate in the writing of this year’s Lenten Devotional.  Our theme will be “Grace” in all its mystery and bounty!  A Scripture will be assigned for each day of our Lenten Journey together and contributors will be asked to share a brief reflection on it.  Last year’s devotional was inspirational and we are hoping for even greater participation this year!  A sign-up sheet and available Scriptures will be placed in the Narthex around the 15th of January.   Don’t miss this faith-sharing opportunity!

The 2012 Giving Envelopes are in the narthex! Please take the time to pick your envelopes up. Simply Giving forms are there also to make any changes to your giving amounts.

If you will be changing your giving amount for 2012 and are in “Simply Giving” you will need to fill out a “Simply Giving” form stating the change and submit this to the Treasurer or church office. A form can be gotten from the church office or forms will be in the narthex also.

Christ Lutheran’s Sunday worship service will be aired on local public access channel # 10 on Monday’s at 3:00pm and Wednesday’s at 2:00pm. The weekly service is a recording from the previous Sunday.
