2011 - 2012 To Follow and to Serve: The Gospel of Mark
The 2011-2012 bible study challenges us - it's an invitation to discipleship in the 21st century. The study emphasizes what it means to follow Jesus Christ today. We are called to a living faith, a deeper and more courageous understanding of what it means to follow the one we first met in Mark's Gospel at his baptism at the River Jordan. Theme Verse is "Take heart; get up, (Jesus) is calling you." Mark 10:49b.
Session 3: December is Beyond the Boundaries in this session Jesus’ ministry carries him further from Nazareth and Capernaum. Religion, race, and political categories begin to dissolve. Theme verse Mark 6:38 “How many loaves have you? Go and see…”
