Be a part of our worship services! Acolytes help us keep everything running smoothly, and we’d love to train
your student in!

What Is

Acolyte Training?

Acolyte training is for all 5th grade students & any 6th – 9th grade students that have not yet had Acolyte training.

Students will learn the how our worship services are structured and how to assist in the running of them. This includes tasks such as lighting and extinguishing the altar candles, helping the ushers, and assisting in communion.

The training is normally held in September each year. This page will be updated with a registration link once the training course for 2023 is set. If your student was unable to attend the training in September 2022 and would like to serve as an Acolyte, please contact the Christian Education team @ clceducation@christluth.com

Schedule and Sign-Up

Note that acolytes are expected to arrive 10 minutes early to any worship service they are serving in, in order to robe up and light the altar candles prior to service beginning.
